Heresy: There's No Such Thing

There’s no such thing as heresy. What there is, is:

  • the observations we are able to make, imperfectly, of God’s creation, not excluding human feelings and intuitions; and
  • the mental models by which we try, again imperfectly, to synthesize, interpret, and explain our observations and to predict future events.

Some mental models do a better job than others. Mental models based on facing the facts, whatever they are, demonstrably do a superior job than those based purely on the Faith Once Delivered, or "FOD."   Cf. Deut. 18.21-22 and 1 Thess. 5.19-21.
