Left-hand column: Some of my favorite posts from the past three years, organized in a topical outline, followed by a blogroll of other blogs I read.
Right-hand column: Recent posts, followed by notes on recent news articles and books.
For news of the unfortunate political battles in the Episcopal Church and Anglican Communion — mostly over homosexuality, arising from disagreement about the proper place of Scripture — see Thinking Anglicans (neutral and moderate) and TitusOneNine (traditionalist, but not as rabid as some of that genre; run by cordial people who enforce a certain standard of civility).

Evidence-based Christianity?
By all means let us examine the evidence which demonstrates that the major Christian doctrines have no basis in the New Testament.
Doctrines such as the Trinity, Virgin Birth, and the various 'divinity' teachings, impose a barrier between Jesus of Nazareth and the rest of humanity; they misrepresent the values he stood for; they falsify the issues that brought him into collision with the priests; and they conceal the motives of those who caused him to be crucified.
The Christian churches will continue to grow in irrelevancy because the tide of reason is unstoppable.
Their only hope is to cast aside theological accretions and start emulating Jesus of Nazareth and his living principles instead of passively believing dead doctrines.

[Personal attack at previous commenter deleted by moderator] "Christian doctrines have no basis in the New Testament."
Give me a break.

I have been skimming through some of your previous postings, and I think you have written a lot of interesting and thought provoking entries. I have added a link to your blog from my own blog.
